• ‘East Hemel’ has been identified by St Albans District Council as being able to deliver 2,500 new homes and 55 hectares of employment land by 2031.
• The Crown Estate will host public consultation events on Thursday 20^th, Monday 24^th and Thursday 27^th October to seek input from local people.

The Crown Estate will be holding a series of events to seek local people’s input on an emerging vision for land east of Hemel Hempstead, which includes new homes and jobs, investment in road infrastructure, green spaces, new schools, community facilities, walking and cycling routes as well as a range of other benefits.

The site, which The Crown Estate is calling ‘East Hemel’, has been identified in St Albans District Council’s Strategic Local Plan as having the potential to deliver 2,500 homes and 8,000 new jobs before 2031.

The Crown Estate will be holding consultation events across three days at three different locations in the local area. Details are as follows:

• Holy Trinity Church, Leverstock Green 4pm – 7pm on Thursday 20^th October;
• Brockswood School, Hemel Hempstead 3pm – 7pm on Monday 24^th October;
• Redbourn Parish Centre 4pm – 8pm on Thursday 27^th

 Steve Melligan, Strategic Land Manager at The Crown Estate, which owns the site, said:

Promoting sites across its rural portfolio to help meet local development needs is one of The Crown Estate’s major specialisms. In the last year it has secured planning permission for 7,000 homes across the UK.
